I used to think that you must always be on optimistic mode where you always expecting great things to happen, that’s true but I have taken it too far. I am always expecting something from every event and people and I forget to check my dopamine levels sparking out of nowhere. In turn I feel way bad when things doesn’ go well as it seems or how well I planned for it.
now I expect zero, and zero from people and events cause that make me way happier if something good happens in terms of me getting surprised. that’s what the seduction of pessimism I came across while reading the book psychology of Money.
Expecting things to be great means a best case scenario that feels flat. Pessimism reduces expectations, narrowing the gap between possible outcomes and outcomes for which you feel great about.
So the best way to be optimistic is to lower down your expectations bar and feel happier when/if something goes great. and I do recommend my readers to go all in with your work and relationships without expecting much in return at least at the beginning.
